A Bicycle can be a Powerful Thing

avril 12th, 2010

It would be hard to say just how many inspirational conversations have been sparked between friends while enjoying a beer after a great ride; the number is probably in the trillions or even kajillions. It really isn’t important, but on just such an occasion a few years ago, a friend who worked at a bicycle […]

Product Profiles: Streamliner DLX Road

avril 7th, 2010

It just so happens that many people are not always sure what type of products they need or how the features of a specific product can help solve the problems they experience – with their bicycle of course. Taking this into consideration it seemed obvious that we can help out by providing information and key points in the thinking and design that goes into our products and how we have addressed some of problems cyclists commonly run into. Starting things off I thought we would look at the Streamliner Road DLX.

Seattle Bicycle Expo… Will you be there Next Year?

mars 22nd, 2010

Last weekend we packed up a big truck and ran for the border, our destination: The Seattle Bicycle Expo. Seattle is a great city and this year’s expo was an exceptionally excellent place to be last weekend. Hosted at the new cruise ship terminal, it was a little nicer than last year’s venue –though admittedly, it didn’t hold the same, shall we say, atmosphere. This year featured more exhibitors than you could count on ten hands and entertainment from Ryan Leech and Artistic cyclists from Germany, now that was something new. All in all it was an amazing show.

Seattle Bicycle Expo: See you there!

mars 10th, 2010

The webpage for the Cascade Bicycle Club reads: “Largest bicycle consumer show in the United States,” and frankly we would be remiss if we didn’t attend – so we will. If you are in the Seattle area or even a bit out of the area and up for a drive, or more fittingly a ride, […]

Panniers 101: Purchasing the Bike Bag

mars 5th, 2010

The noble pannier can be either friend or foe. On the one hand a good, well made pannier can make carrying your gear around much easier, while a bad one can cause all types of headaches. Panniers, which most people would simply call bags that attach to racks on your bicycle, were probably so named […]

Warm clothes, bicycles and a taste for adventure: Months of planning and we leave tomorrow.

février 18th, 2010

And… we’re off! It has been a hectic couple of weeks full of last-minute preparations, gear purchases, and logistical arrangements.  If there is one thing that I’ve learned recently, it is that organizing an expedition is a LOT of work!  Yet it truly is an exciting time.  In less than a week we will begin […]

See it again for the first time: Why cycling is the only way to see your city.

février 15th, 2010

When you are speeding by, behind the wheel of a car, hopefully paying attention to the task at hand -aka driving- you miss many of the sights your city holds. Architecture, art, scenery, and more zip by; you may never fully get to know your city in a car. But luckily there is such a […]

février 4th, 2010

Preparations begin for Siberian Cycling Expedition With only 18 days left until our departure date, planning efforts and gear modifications are in full swing! One of our principle challenges is to anticipate the conditions which we will encounter during our 35-day circumnavigation of Lake Baikal and make all preparations ahead of time to ensure a […]

It’s our Sport: Do you put your best pedal forward for cycling the brand?

janvier 28th, 2010

At the base of a busy mountain road just outside Vancouver BC, eight cyclists stood casually straddling their bicycles in the middle of a busy traffic lane. The exciting road offers a steep winding ascent with beautiful panoramic views of the city below, and, if you choose, a blazing descent back down to the city. […]
